Tulks North

Minimize

The Tulks North Property comprises 641 mineral claims covering 16,075 hectares (approximately 32 km x 5 km) and is strategically positioned within the Tulks volcanic belt, just one of several Ordovician age volcanic belts in central Newfoundland known to host numerous volcanogenic base metal sulphide deposits (VMS deposits), including some of the highest grade ore deposits mined in eastern Canada (e.g. Buchans and Duck Pond mines). The property is located approximately 15 km south of the former producing Buchans Mine (on the eastern shore of Red Indian Lake), one of Canada’s richest base metal mines which produced 16.2 million tonnes grading 14.51% zinc, 1.33% copper, 7.56% lead, 126 g/t silver and 1.37g/t gold.

In addition to the Daniels Pond VMS deposit located within the property, the property hosts a number of other prospective targets which have been identified and evaluated through only limited exploration programs completed to date.  These include the Parking Lot Showing, Daniel’s Pond Extension, Roebuck Alteration Zone, Tim’s Creek Area, Bobby’s Pond Alteration Zone, Bobby’s Pond South, Jack’s Pond Alteration Zone, Black Jack Prospect and Sutherland’s Pond Alteration Zone.   The Jack’s Pond Alteration Zone is potentially the largest known alteration zone in the region outside the former Buchans Mines.  Royal Roads has now completed a full digital compilation of all historical work completed on the entire 16,075 hectare Tulks North property and is currently planning further exploration programs that will expand outwards from Daniels Pond and look for new discoveries in this expansive and highly prospective holding.
